I started this page because I tend to forget things. Things about programming, tricks that take ages to find out and two weeks to forget. So there it was, a collection of software tricks written up.

Then came the time I did a lot of DIY; do it yourself soldering, DIY take apart, DIY put together. Also these things tend to get out of hand easily and out of mind even more so. So what followed was a lot of pages on DIY with handy tricks to keep in mind. This page started to become a sort of external memory.

Finally I had quite a few occasions that people talked to me about renovating their homes or building new houses. When you build a new house, every one should have a heat recovery shower. Also, you should have a look into the passifhause, also called passive house or passivhaus. This type of housing typically uses only 15W/m² or 15 KWh annually. This would save more than 80% of our energy needs for heating dwellings, which takes up 30% or more of our total energy consumption. So a 24% saving in reach, just by having thicker insulation in walls... and a bit more. When I got into saving energy, there was a plethora of things to display on this page, and this is about where we stand.
